Ukelele lunchtimes!

Winter is s-l-o-w-l-y approaching and it is getting cold out there! Why not brighten up your lunch time and come and have a jam with the UKELELE CLUB! 

Anyone is welcome, staff included. The club is on every Friday lunchtime in music block, run by our very own Mr Bremner.

there are a few spare ukelele's but if you have your own please bring it along too!

You don't have to have played before as anyone can do it! All abilities welcome. It is loads of fun and you will learn some up to date chart hits as well as some classics. Don't miss it, have a sing song and make new friends!

House Dance

Amazing opportunity for boys! Don't miss out.

BOYS! Think dance is just for girls? Think you can't do awesome moves that show your strength and power? Think again.

Boys dance has never been better and, believe it or not, it CAN be cool! As shown here, by boys only dance company 'Fuzzylogic'.

Yateley School has been offered an amazing opportunity to work with Fuzzylogic and we are calling for boys in years 7 to 13 to join us! The dance company will be coming to school to to lead two workshops during the school day. The workshop is always physically challenging and includes lots of contact work, lifting and characterisation. Are you up for the challenge?

The group will then create a performance and perform it at South Hill Park in Bracknell in January 2013, along with other Boys Dance Groups from local schools. Fuzzylogic Dance Company is one of the leading male youth companies in the UK and this is a chance to show that Boys Can Dance at Yateley School.

If you are interested in taking part of this fantastic opportunity please see Mrs Wearing in the Dance Office asap as invites will be going out in the next week or so. There are only 25-30 places available. Don't miss out!

HOUSE DANCE UPDATE

Thank you to everyone who auditioned for the House Dance Show! The standard of dance was very good and we have chosen dances that add variety to the show. The following pieces have been selected:

PLEASE NOTE:

All of the above pieces must be shown again (finished) on Thursday 4th October, from 3.15-4.15pm in the Dance Studio. Please bring a costume that you are planning to wear. We will also need a copy of your music (edited) and clearly labelled with your name. Also, please think of a title for your dance and write a sentence that explains what it is about - this is for the programme.

This Thursday lunchtime there will be a Year 8 Dance Club in the studio. It would be great to see some of you that auditioned!

There is also a Year 9 club on Fridays and a Year 7 club on Mondays!

'Some Like It Hip Hop' Trip to London!

Fancy a trip on a coach?

Then this trip is most definitely for you!! So read on...

The Dance department are running a trip to the Peacock Theatre in London to see Zoonations 'Some Like It Hip Hop' on Tuesday 2nd October. The coach will be leaving school at 4.45pm so don't be late! The full cost of the trip is £22.00, this includes tickets and return travel to Yateley School.


To secure your place on this trip you MUST collect a letter from the Dance Office and return, with payment asap!
