Dance Happenings

The Dance Department have kicked off the New Year with plenty of exciting happenings for students.

Coming up in March they are offering a trip to LABAN for students in Year's 12 and 13. This trip is taking place on 7th March and will allow the BTEC students to get a taste of what studying dance at a professional level is all about. This great opportunity will also include a tour of the school, the chance to watch a professional class, participation in a contemporary technique class, led by a professional dancer, and a creative choreography workshop. For any student studying dance this is a must-do trip.

Also in March the Dance Department will be taking a group to the 'Lift Off' dance festival at South Hill Park in Bracknell. Yateley Schools group will be performing on Friday 15th March - ticket information can be found HERE.

This year the piece being performed is based on 'Beatlemania' and the extremem fanatacism surrounding the 1960's band the Beatles. The group are using a medley of Beatles tracks as their stimulus for the dance.

Why not book some tickets and come along to support Yateley School and all the other schools involved?!

For more information about any of the above please see Miss Thomas or Mrs Wearing in the Dance Department, or email artsblog@yateley.hants.sch.uk.
